Terms of Service

1. The service

ErgoTax is software intended to help users prepare tax-related information and forms. The initial version of ErgoTax is a preparation-only product. It does not provide electronic filing through ErgoTax and does not charge users for access.

2. No tax, legal, or financial advice

ErgoTax is a software tool and not a law firm, accounting firm, CPA, enrolled agent, or tax advisor. ErgoTax does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Users are responsible for reviewing their own information and determining whether outputs are accurate and appropriate for their circumstances.

3. Eligibility

You may use ErgoTax only if you can form a binding agreement and your use is permitted under applicable law.

4. User responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Entering or importing accurate information
• Reviewing all generated outputs before relying on them
• Using the product only for lawful purposes
• Maintaining the security of your own device and accounts

5. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

• Use ErgoTax for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
• Copy, reverse engineer, or exploit the service except as allowed by law

6. Availability and changes

ErgoTax may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Intellectual property

ErgoTax and its related content, design, branding, and software are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, ErgoTax grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose.

8. Privacy

Use of ErgoTax is also governed by the ErgoTax Privacy Notice.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

ErgoTax is provided on an as-is and as-available basis, to the fullest extent permitted by law. ErgoTax disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ErgoTax and its affiliates, founders, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or tax-related losses arising from or related to use of the service. Users remain responsible for reviewing their filings and compliance obligations.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ErgoTax from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

ErgoTax may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or if continued access presents security, legal, or operational risk.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws selected by ErgoTax in its official legal materials, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Changes to these Terms

ErgoTax may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
